Touhou Project Character Hieda no Akyu

Hieda no Akyu (稗田 阿求 Hieda no Akyū?)
Species: Human
Ability: Never forgets anything she sees
Residence: Human Village

She is currently the "Child of Miare" (御阿礼の子 Miare no Ko?) who was born in the Hieda family once in every few hundred years with ability to "not forget anything she sees" and records Gensokyo's history. She seems to like black tea. Despite her young age, her memory goes back 1200 years. This is because every "Child of Miare" of the Hieda family is a reincarnation of previous "Child of Miare", who inherits the memories of the previous incarnates. She is the ninth reincarnation in the line, as reflected by her name — a pun of the Japanese word for "nine". Each time she reincarnates, her life span gets shorter and shorter. The "Miare" referred to is the real-life Hieda no Are, who compiled the Kojiki. Also, she is the first "Child of Miare" to be born after the sealing of Gensokyo. She is on the cover of Akyu's Untouched Score, the original soundtracks for the PC-98 Touhou games, and is also the narrator of the book Perfect Memento of Strict Sense.

IU coach’s death an unfathomable loss

By Steve Warden

Early in Terry Hoeppner’s tenure as the Indiana University football coach, he plucked a book titled “Good to Great” from his Memorial Stadium office shelves and plopped it on his desk.

“The enemy of great is good,” Hoeppner quoted from the book, with the idea being that if you were content with merely being good, you could never be great.
